Love this place..the most popular view right across the street..excellent bar ..bowling alley and game room..Foods good in the restaurant .reasonable prices and if your military the cottages are warm and cozy. The downside is the front gate to the park..the fees are horrendous to enter and they keep raising the prices too..enter late when everything's closed like 8pm or so..then it's free...dress warm and bring raingear..hiking shoes. Enjoy
The camp housing is your basic needs. The staff is really friendly and helpful in your request. But the camp's surroundings are out of this world! Kilauea Volcano is magnificent! You can feel its energy! When visiting the Big Island even if it's overnight, you can not pass the chance to stay at KMC. A lifetime experience with all the places within the park you can go and enjoy.
Love this place! In spite of the historical look from the outside, our cabin is very well outfitted. Very snug. The dining hall serves a very basic menu, which very much reminds me of eating in a military chow hall. Grounds are very well kept, and the staff has been very friendly and helpful.
Loved staying here. Great accommodations that were very convenient to a lot of sightseeing. Quiet and quaint.
I want to love it...I sure appreciate the the idea. The camp is woefully underfunded or mismanaged. The cabins are fine...cozy, quaint, and clean. The state of repair leaves a little to be desired. Facilities have not been up-kept and are disappointing. Staff is excellent and friendly. Location can’t be beat.
