My daughter and I stayed here for five days in February 2017. We felt pampered. Comfortable and private unit, beautifully decorated. Loved the delicious breakfast delivered to our door daily. The cottages are conveniently located near the Volcano National Park and situated in the middle of a dense rain forest. Beautiful views in every direction. We'd stay there again.
This has been the only place I have ever stepped into and was taken back by how magnificent it looks in person! The pictures do not do these cottages justice! Amazing and I highly recommend staying here. The grounds are gorgeous as well. Breakfast is served to your room. The owner, John, was very accommodating and just as kind as can be.
Beautiful. The room is large and clean. The decor has a Japanese theme, with a very peaceful and zen feeling. We have a private jacuzzi bath in the bathroom, along with a separate shower. The shower is easily tall enough for me at 6'1". We have a private back yard with is quite pleasant to sit in. And we have been visited on several occasions by the resident cat, who enjoys the zen environment too. I would defiantly stay here again.

What a beautiful, tranquil, clean cottage in the rainforest! We stayed at John's Lotus Garden cottages for 2 nights while on our honeymoon and we loved this peaceful and relaxing getaway! John served us delicious, fresh breakfast each morning at 8am sharp, and we loved visits from his cat Choo Choo! John was available, but nonintrusive. The grounds are incredibly maintained. Only ten minutes from the Volcano National Park and about 35 minutes from Hilo, it was a perfect location, but somewhat in the middle of nowhere (which we loved). We enjoyed playing cards and listening to the rainfall on our roof. We thought 1 full day at the national park was plenty, and we highly suggest Pineapples Restaurant in Hilo, and Thai Thai in Volcano. There aren't many other options in Volcano village, but it is a perfect getaway! Our favorite was visiting Jagger Museum at sunset to see the exploding lava!!
